Recently I watched a presentation on C-SPAN by Newt Gingrich. I don't agree much with his politics, but I do think he's a pretty smart guy. He was commenting on our "lack of tenacity" in persuing terrorists.. which is crap in the context he mentioned it (Iraq war rhetoric), but, anyway.. it was something like "if you think your civil liberties are in danger now, just wait until we lose a city." He's right. If some maniac detonates some horrifying bomb somewhere in the US, we're basically fucked. I knew five seconds after I saw the second plane hit the tower that we were going to lose some freedom as a result. What was America will cease to exist after that. That's scarier than the damn bomb itself to me.
